For systems with audio output, people may need the ability to silence or mute all audio output.
Notes
There may be many reasons people need to be able to mute the audio output:
- Because it is distracting or overwhelming
- Because it conflicts with audio from another task the user is working on
- Because a user wants custom music or audio
- Because it conflicts with audio from assistive technology
- Because the user needs to remain silent in the current environment or circumstances
